Checking landing-page consistency across creative variants
Audit each creative promise, click route and final page so variants lead to destinations that match their message.
Check each creative variant against the page reached after the click. Compare the ad's promise, call to action, final destination and visible page content. Several variants can share a URL if that page fulfils each message.
Record each variant and destination
For every variant, record the creative ID, visible claim, call to action, declared landing URL, final URL after redirects and page owner. Record the relevant offer or product version when it may change during the campaign. This helps trace a mismatch across sizes, languages or promotions.
A broad product-category message may suit a category page. A specific product or offer claim needs a page where the visitor can find that product or offer. Decide from what the ad leads a visitor to expect.
Follow the click
Click through from the creative preview and record the final URL. Review the page on devices and in locations relevant to the buy. Check the page heading, product or service, offer terms, availability and next action. A page may load while displaying an expired offer, unavailable product or broken form.
When a click unexpectedly reaches a generic homepage, inspect the route and compare the final destination with the intended page before treating it as an intentional destination.
If Display & Video 360 flags an uncrawlable URL, compare the URL identified in the platform's review or rejection feedback with the final URL after redirects. Check that the route resolves to the intended page. A preview click is useful evidence for that route, but it does not prove every live context will behave identically.
Check the message against the page
For each variant, ask whether the final page delivers the advertised product, service or information; whether the promised action is possible; and whether any visible price, availability, timing or eligibility claim remains accurate for the targeted audience. Review the route again when an offer, page or redirect changes. A technically correct URL can lead to content that no longer matches the ad.
Record a pass only for routes someone has opened and reviewed. If a destination is broken or mismatched, correct the affected variant or its exit and check the revised route before relying on it. Platform approval does not replace the advertiser's message-to-page review.
